On the fence about investing in Boston maternity photography?
I get it. Pregnancy can feel overwhelming- your body’s changing, you’re exhausted, and nothing fits the way it used to. Believe me, after being pregnant with twins, I really get it. But before you go and write off maternity photography altogether, here me out…

Reasons You May *NOT* Want to Invest in Maternity Photography
If you’ve stumbled on this post, you (or someone you love!) is probably expecting a little one sometime soon. Everyone’s journey to parenthood is different and whether this is your first go ’round or you’re continuing to grow your family- congratulations!!
So, let’s address the elephant in the room: there are more than a few reasons why people don’t think a maternity photography session is for them. In this post, I’m breaking down the three things I hear most often:

Is It Even Worth It?
“Do I really need maternity photos?”
Okay, so when I was pregnant with my twins I HATED when people told me “it’ll be over before you know it!” Because it absolutely didn’t feel like it was going to be over before I knew it. In fact, it felt very much like “this is taking too f*cking long and I’m miserable and I’d love for it to be over now, thanks.”
I know it may not feel like it right now, but this season will be over before you know it (cliche, but it’s true). And your Boston maternity photography session isn’t just for now. The photos are for your future self- and for the little one who will one day see how loved they were even before they arrived. You’ll never regret being able to share these photographs, when it was just you two, with your child as they grow up.

I’m Definitely Not ‘Glowing’…
“…I’m swollen and exhausted!”
Some people ease into pregnancy, have that glow, and love every bit of growing a tiny human. But some of us don’t (ahem, *this was me*). Sometimes it’s a difficult transition. Sometimes watching our bodies change during pregnancy is hard and uncomfortable. The idea of taking photos if you feel like this may seem unnecessary and overwhelming. Sound like you? If it does…hi friend, this was me, too.
I was the person who couldn’t wrap my head around taking maternity photos. Most days I was just trying to keep food down; I was sick and miserable and in absolutely no mood to document any of it.
But here’s what I wish someone had reminded me when I was on the fence about investing in maternity photography: your body is creating the next generation of your family. I hope you feel empowered and strong and know just how much of a badass you are. But if you don’t (because #pregnancy) having these photos to look back at will remind you. Because the days are going to pass. Once a baby arrives, your perspective changes in so many ways. I’m willing to bet, the maternity photos you thought weren’t worth it will be a treasure; a forever reminder of a fleeting time.

It’s Too Much Work
“I can’t imagine adding one more thing to my plate right now.“

Finding a location, going shopping, buying clothes that looked halfway decent and would photograph well…nope, no thanks.
